The Annual Rahwack Memorial Day Kickball Match was on and popp'n again. The weather was perfect as two teams prepared for battle. This time however there was an influx of newbies to Rahway. Each team sported thier rookies as a classic was to unfold. New baby daddy Coach Lasher and The Old Glory Hole's put thier win streak on the line against Coach Erkan and The Brother's Shamus. Teams traded a run in the first inning. Coach Lasher rallied the troops in the second as The Glory Holes put 3 spot up to take a 4 -1 lead. "It had the feeling of last Octobers disater" said centerfielder A-Lo. The veteran was eluding to the 29-13 stomping they took at the hands of Lasher. The Brother's Shamus however answered back to tie the game at 4. Some sloppy fielding by Shamus allowed the hated rivals to tally three times in the 4th giving coach Lasher and team a 7-4 lead. One observer had pointed out a serious base coaching mstake by coach Erkan that would prove lethal later on. In the bottom of the third team MVP @Facemelter had a sure score as no one covered home on a ball blasted into the outfiled. Coach Erkan did not realize there was no one covering and held his man at 3rd. The Facemelter never scored. Both teams remain scoreless through the next 4 innings bringing us to the bottom of the 9th. The bottom of the line up was in to try to rally the troops. @CPall31 lead off with a clean single followed up by a blast by Mickey. Coach Erkan Drove one to the outfiled scoring two. Could it be that this team could possible make this happen. Down by one The Brother's Shamus failed to push that last run home falling to The Glory Holes 7-6. Coach Lasher in his normal humble self stated "When are we going to get some competition out here?"  Both teams look to meet up again possible in July for another great battle.

Pref Gets Rewarded

Coach Lasher handed MVP Honors to 2nd base extrodinaire. Kelly, or The Pref as she is known on the field, is the first female to earn the covited Joe O'Rielly I Try Harder MVP Award. When asked if it was a tough decision coach gave us this "It always is tough becaus eeveryone plays so hard on this team. I thought that this game however really showed how much The Pref has progressed. She had reached bse twice and acually caught the ball. How could i look elsewhere?" Congrtas to The Pref!

Return of The Original Gangster

 After a year off Little Larry returned. The first ever Rahwack MVP looked like he didnt miss a step. Sporting his Al-Queda look Larry chipped in with a few kicks and an RBI. Along with his play on the field Larry also showed his terrorist training skill sby scalling up the side of a chain linked backstop to rescure a childs foam rocket. What a swell guy.

Bon Voyage!!!

Rahwack Kickball wants to say good luck to one of the original kickballers Sly King. Skippy and his girlfriend have recently packed up and moved to the left coast. They have landed in San Diego. Hopefully Skip can find a game or two out there. One of the overall nicest guys you will ever meet. This kid once shared a room with me me for about a year and it allowed me to get to know him well. This guy would do anything he could to help someone out. All of the Rahwackers wish you the best of luck in your new residence. Your on the west coast now but Rahway will always be home. Thanks for everything man, your the best!!!

 Labor Day Kickball Extravaganza in Rahway!

The Bash Brothers were in full effect this weekend. The duo of Norm and Sly posed to be too much once again for coach Erkan's squad. The brothers hammered out long ball after long ball that kept out field running. Strategically placed back to back and a belly to belly in th eline up by coach Lasher. Team Suck Our Kick got off to a fast lead posting 8 quick runs in the top of the first inning. Coach Erkan and the rest of The Rahway Red Legs showed little life scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. " I thought we would have been more inspired, especially with the return of Big Marcus" stated coach Erkan. "Marcus should have motivated us, he just did two tours in the hospital and is back out here, pastrami sandwhich in hand!!" Coach Lasher praised the play of his newest aquisition Kid Cam. " We didnt know how he would perform under the pressure, he had'nt been in this type of situation before but he went out there and showed everyone he copuld play. The bottom of the 6th inning The Red Legs showed signs of life as they put a 7 spot up. The momentum was quickly estinguished as Lasher's bohys returned the 7 run favor. The final few innigs proved to be uneventful for the Red Legs and when the final out was tallied it showed 29 -13 in favor of Suck Our Kick. Coach Lasher handed out Co-MVP awards to both Norm and Sly. It was another great day in Rahway, the weather was awsome, and a good time was had by all.

RETURN of the MAN CHILD

Over the past few years Rahwack Kickball has had alot of people come and go. The very first game played Marcus Drew was there. He has not been back since. This past weekend MARKed the return of the man. Mr. Drew was back and in full form. Playing first base and chipping in with a few kicks. "Ah man it felt good to be back. My doctors said i couldnt come back blazahy blazahy, but i knew i would make it. It was great just to be out here again." Other competitors were in Aw of Marcus as he appeared to be very nibble on this feet. Not only did we learn Marcus can still play, but we learned that if you wrap a Gatorade bottle up in foil it will stay cold. Who knew, only Drew!
